Wow?! and the difference between something made of energy, or a hologram as such is a real mind boggle, since when does an argument come into something that can only be defined as a masterpiece?? *NEEERRDDD RAGE

A hologram... Versus an energy blade... Good Lord, what's the contest?

The omni-blade isn't a hologram: holograms can't stab you.

From what I've seen, the omni-tool is a holographic multi-media/ information storing and receiving device. The omni-blade (really a misnomer) is nothing different.

From the Mass Effect Codex, "The most common melee design is the "omni-blade," a disposable silicon-carbide weapon flash-forged by the tool's mini-fabricator. The transparent, nearly diamond-hard blade is created and suspended in a mass effect field safely away from the user's skin. Warning lights illuminate the field so the searing-hot blade only burns what it is intended to: the opponent."

Unfortunately, the Plasma blade appears to have a longer reach.

However the omni blade is attached to the wearer's arm, thus allowing more flexibility in combat. :3

THis is true, but A plasma sword can swipe and stab. An omni-blade is built more with stabbing in mind.

It's definitely better for stabbing but it's perfect to counter the Energy Sword's swipes and stabs since it's like holding up your arm to block.

I can't really decide which wins. lol

Indeed. Though hopefully they're never used against each other. Two great universe's coming together might spell the end for us all.

Someone who is faster and more dextrous than an elite wielding an energy sword can easily get close enough for an Omniblade kill.

I wouldn't really say the Omni-Blade is famous. But... eh. Still cool. Energy Sword would win though.

it's not a plasma sword it's an energy sword. sorry i have to get technical, i don't usually do that.

it uses plasma, so you can call it either one

Actually it uses energy not plasma, if it used plasma it would look like the bullets from a plasma gun, well the colour of the bullets, and does it, no it looks a lot lighter, which is what energy looks like. plasma bullets are the colour of blue and not light blue, but not dark blue either, also they can be green/ greeny-yellow, the energy sword looks light blue, a very light blue. Oh and this isn't an argument if your wondering, I'm just stating facts.

and the plasma pistol fires green bolts and the brute plasma rifle fires red bolts so color means nothing

yes exactly, but the sword is called an energy sword, it's in the name, if it was made from plasma it would be called a plasma sword, not an energy sword.

"The Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword consists of a curved hilt, which houses an energy storage and generation device, as well as the blade projector; that forms a composition of two highly magnetic polar points that shape and hold a partially ionized, free moving electron based gas into a blade-like form...." pretty sure plasma is gas

not really, plasma is made up of water, and gas sort of, but again, it's made form energy, anybody knows this, it may be limited energy, but still energy, plus even people who don't know a lot about halo or even don't like halo would know the difference between plasma and energy. so you see plasma and energy are not the same, they may be similar in some ways. oh and it's halo 101 to know the difference between energy and plasma, if they were the same thing then the plasma rifle etc, would also be called energy rifle, but they aren't. that kind of implies that they are not the same thing.

weapons like the sentinel beam use energy, covenant weapons use plasma and I've played halo since it came out, so im aware of the difference between the two. and down the page is an answer to the name.

are you fucking stupid? i said the owner answered the name question farther down the page. so no im not an idiot, every weapon the covenant uses is either plasma based or uses radioactive rounds. call it what you want, but it uses plasma
